As we mentioned before, Valencia is very much a student city. This means it is tailor-
made with you in mind. Whether you are visiting to learn English or are studying at
university, there are many beautiful and inspiring spots across Valencia to help you get
the best out of your revision. Here are our top five picks.
When it comes to coffee shops in Valencia to find some peace and quiet to be able to study well,
ArtySana in the Ruzafa district of Valencia is the best option. This cute and mildly hipster café just 10
minutes’ walk from the city centre is ideal to cram some extra knowledge into your head. The food
here is incredibly healthy and wholesome, and really will give you a physical and mental boost,
and the fruit juices are almost too organic and healthy. The café has a beautiful little garden with
coloured lights and incredibly friendly local staff that work there. It’s the perfect place to study,
energise and get ready for those exam or essay seasons.
FIVE OF THE BEST REVISION SPOTS
IN VALENCIA
The Biblioteca Municipal in central Valencia (in the Xativa area) is a classic study library. It’s very
easily accessible by almost any type of public transport, as well as being close enough to the city
centre to make socialising afterwards very easy. On top of the usual quiet zones and study corners,
the library is particularly interesting as they regularly hold poetry meetings and talks, so whilst you
have your nose to the grindstone, you can take regular breaks and check out some culture at the
same time. This always makes the time you are spending studying more effective as it is focused
and energetic instead of forced.
What’s the point of having a beach in your city if you can’t spend time there? Malvarrosa Beach
in the Cabanal area of Valencia is another ideal study spot. If you can come prepared for some
occasional wind and sand invasions (and not use too many loose sheets of paper!) then the
beach can be an ideal study spot. There is plenty of open space to avoid feeling sleepy and
closed in, as well as nice bright natural light to avoid straining already delicate student eyes.
The beach is much longer than you might think, so if you are struggling to find a quieter spot
without blaring speakers or loud football games, then just continue walking further down, as
the beach goes on for more than two kilometres.
Another café should go on this list as well, and location is vital to ensure that you are in the right
atmosphere and mind-set. One of the best coffee shops in terms of location as well as ambience is the
Starbucks at 44 Saint Vincent Martin Street (Carrer de Sant Vicent Martir). This coffee shop is obviously
well-known, and the recommendation is less for the quality or price of the coffee (both high) but
instead is for the views and the convenient placement. It sits on one of the prettiest streets in Valencia,
where drooping trees hang their leaves over both sides of the road. Famous churches and stunning
architecture are all around this area, as is the Central Market (Mercat Central) and cathedral.
