learning programmes in
conjunction with international
schools around the world. Can
you tell us more about these?
Powerful Youth designs and offers affordable custom
in-school youth leadership programmes for secondary
international schools all around the world. These
custom programmes typically align our engaging
hands-on approach with the needs of schools such as
the International Baccalaureate (IB) Creativity, Activity
Service (CAS) requirement, or other service and/or
youth leadership development goals.
Recent programmes provided have included a five-
day IB CAS Leadership Kickstart with Sendai Ikuei
Gakuen High School in Japan, a three-day Leadership
Conference for six Thai Ministry of Education Schools
in Thailand, and a two-day intensive Youth Leadership
Development Program at Dwight Seoul High School,
among others.

Who are the programmes typically
aimed towards and what are the
key characteristics of a GLA /
Powerful Youth student?
The typical GLA student is curious and keen to do
something important with their summer. Regardless
of academic or English language, we find that the
most successful GLA graduates are those who have
the right attitude of coming to a programme to
challenge themselves, support their team, and consider
that there is in fact a leader inside them already. It’s
about whether they are willing to put in the right kind
of work to develop that leadership ability in order to
get the benefit of what leadership skills can provide.
