The highly accredited Czech Hospital Placements
Program offers a short-term hospital placement to
English speaking students between the ages of 17 and
26, under the supervision of professionals. The placement
provides invaluable insight into a medical career, through
shadowing at least one of the 80 mentors in the world-
class University Hospital in Motol. The CHP mentors are
English speaking doctors, nurses, midwives and other
professionals coming from various different areas of
healthcare. Shadowing a mentor gives the opportunity to
observe a live clinical environment of daily tasks, surgeries
and treatment procedures, helping to understand the
skills needed for the job.
The judges are impressed with the prior arranged study
materials that were related to the speciality department.
Accompanied by the constant feedback from the
CHP Mentors and the influential surrounding hospital
environment, the participants’ experience is enhanced.
Furthermore, the placement provides them with a
competitive edge over other prospective university
candidates as they will have gained first-hand experience
in one of the most significant healthcare organisations
in the Czech Republic – with 21,455 rooms, it is among
the biggest hospital facilities in Europe. The length of
the programme is flexible, however the more weeks the
participants commit to, the more departments they will
be able to experience.
