Celebrating 50 years of excellence in 2019, Dominion
English Schools is New Zealand’s premier English
language learning centre. They offer up to eight levels
of English language learning, ranging from novice
to near-native. A home from home, Dominion is an
international haven offering a complete linguistic and
immersive experience to students coming from more
than 50 different countries every year. In spite of having
a large student body, Dominion retains their family-
feel status due to their friendly and supportive learning
environment. This is accompanied by an exciting
activity programme, combining study with fun, which
includes adventure sports and sightseeing. These great
opportunities give the students the chance to embrace
life in New Zealand, whilst still improving their English.
Since starting in 1969, Dominion’s teachers have offered
high quality academic preparation for study at university,
polytechnic and private colleges. The judges were
particularly impressed by Dominion’s wide variety of
courses aimed at different ability levels, age groups and
examinations. A teacher training course is also available,
as well as a teenage school, offering specialised courses
for 12-17 year-olds. This category one school offers
students a unique and valuable educational experience,
allowing them to stand out from the crowd in future
university applications.
