Lingua4Kids is an Italian language school for children
aged two to 16 in Woking and Nottingham. Founded
by native Italian and professional linguist Jennifer Perri-
Damiano after moving to the UK in 2002, the school
aims to nurture the Italian language and culture in
children from a young age. Catering for all abilities, the
school offers beginner, intermediate, advanced and
GCSE preparation lessons conducted by native-Italian
speaking teachers to develop both written and verbal
communication. Lingua4Kids also runs a playgroup for
children aged two to five, which teaches the language
through group play, singing and arts and crafts.
The judges are impressed with the way Lingua4Kids
implements the latest research in language-learning in
their lessons, which are heavily focused on interaction
between teachers and students. They develop
students’ speaking, pronunciation and listening skills,
and consolidate their knowledge of grammar, through
engaged lessons with ample speaking opportunities.
Aside from language-learning, this helps to develop
students’ skills in critical-thinking and confidence,
enabling them to communicate better in our
internationalised world. Lingua4Kids also introduce
cultural topics such as Italian history and geography
to students in their language classes, giving them an
exceptionally well-rounded Italian education.
